Faton Peci to Daut Haradinaj: I am not afraid of you

GUXO leader Faton Peci responded to statements by former AAK MP Daut Haradinaj about the risk of bloodshed and claims that protesters in a square in Prishtina on the night of October 6 were armed.

In his response, Peci criticized those who, he said, were trying to pressure judicial institutions through television appearances and draw parallels with other political cases.

He described as criminal the actions of people who, according to him, warn of bloodshed, say they were armed to the teeth, blackmail institutions and directly threaten elected representatives. Peci claimed that television studios he described as bought off or open to being bought off were being used to manufacture causes and put pressure on the justice system.

Peci said these people threaten to kill and mention having bombs, but try to draw parallels with other cases out of fear that judicial authorities will intervene. As an example, he cited the claim that a mayor who was formerly a minister would be arrested because an MP’s brother was on the list of grant recipients, even though he had not received a single cent.

He said that in the coming days he would again expose organized crime, property abuses and extortion in the agricultural sector, as he said he had done throughout his time as minister. He added that he would lay bare who they really are.

Peci said he had no regard for them and was not afraid of them. He cited his love for Kosovo as the most important reason for his stance, saying he sees it not as plunder but as a sacred place that must not be stolen, bought or sold.
