Employees of institutions in the “Nova Makedonija” building advised to work from home after technical failure

The Government of North Macedonia discussed at today’s meeting the situation at the “Nova Makedonija” building, which houses eight state institutions. The discussion also focused on the measures taken so far, as well as the steps planned to repair the damage and fully restore normal working conditions.

The consequences of the failure include water entering part of the electrical installations. Before the building is returned to regular use, all technical and safety checks will be carried out. In this context, the Government adopted a conclusion recommending that the institutions located in the building temporarily reorganize their activities and enable employees to carry out their duties from home without being physically present in the building.

According to the official announcement, the measure was taken solely for preventive and safety purposes. Protecting the health and safety of employees remains the top priority, while work processes and the functioning of the institutions must continue without interruption.

The relevant services are working intensively to repair the consequences of the failure and ensure the necessary conditions for the employees’ full and safe return to the building.
