A 3-year-old girl has been found alive in western Colombia, despite the fact that more than 72 hours had passed—the period considered the main “window” for finding survivors after an earthquake.
The child spent more than 100 hours trapped under rubble caused by the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that struck the country on August 10.

Colombian media reported that the 3-year-old was immediately taken to hospital.
According to the latest figures released by the authorities, the magnitude 7.4 earthquake—the strongest to hit Colombia this century—has killed at least 294 people and left nearly 4,000 injured.
