Email scams in the name of Gazmend Hoxha, Police appeal for caution

Today, several reports have been noted about a fraudulent email campaign, where the sender abuses the identity of the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha. These communications are entirely false and have no connection with the institution.

The content of the fake email states: “On this occasion, we need your urgent response to the alleged Court Order attached against you,” while the attached document is also a forgery.

Authorities have confirmed that this is not an institutional message and that investigations have already begun to uncover the origin of these fraudulent dispatches.

Citizens are strongly urged not to open this electronic message and to avoid any interaction with its content.

The Kosovo Police reiterates the unofficial nature of these communications and advises citizens with the following instructions:

– avoid clicking on suspicious links;

– never provide personal or banking information;

– do not visit websites that request payments via phone messages.

When a person receives a similar message, authorities advise that it be deleted immediately, that the competent bodies be notified, that the bank be contacted in case financial data have been exposed, and that the case be reported through the digital platform “Report to the Police” or by calling the emergency line 192.
