Eight cases of domestic violence in the last 24 hours, five people arrested

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Macedonia announced that eight cases of domestic violence were recorded in the past 24 hours. In five of them, people were arrested, while in one case an official interview was conducted.

In Prilep, on 30.06.2026 at 21:30, police from NJPB Prilep arrested Z.D. (38) from the city after he was suspected of threatening his father. According to the report, during the threats he also injured himself with a glass object. Authorities are working to fully clarify the case.

On the same day, at 20:10 in Tetovo, police officers arrested F.A. (28) from Tetovo following a report that at around 19:25 he had physically assaulted his sister-in-law and brother. After the case is fully documented, the appropriate criminal complaint will be filed against him.

In the Skopje region, on 30.06.2026 at 19:00, police from SPB Skopje arrested M.N. (68) after it was reported that at home he had threatened his 40-year-old son and his family, and had attempted to attack his minor grandson with a hard object. After the case is documented, the appropriate complaint will follow.

At the Gazi Baba Police Station, on 30.06.2026 at 16:50, police officers from SPB Skopje conducted an official interview with J.F. (27) from Skopje after it was reported that at home he had physically assaulted his 62-year-old father. Measures are being taken to fully clarify the incident.

A 44-year-old woman reported on 01.07.2026 at 01:15 to SPB Skopje that on 21.06.2026 she had been physically assaulted by her husband, C.S. (45), at the family home in the Karposh area. According to her report, on 30.06.2026 he had also tried to force her out of the house. The case is under investigation.

Also at SPB Skopje, on 01.07.2026 at around 03:40, a 22-year-old woman reported that on 30.06.2026, in the Karposh area, she had been physically assaulted by her partner N.M. (32). Measures are being taken to clarify the case.

In Strumica, on 30.06.2026 at 15:30, police from SPB Strumica arrested A.V. (59) from Strumica after, according to the report, he behaved aggressively toward his wife and her mother at the family home. He was held at the Strumica Police Station, and the public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Strumica was notified of the incident. After the case is documented, the appropriate complaint will be filed.

Also on 30.06.2026, at 19:30, in a village in the Strumica region, police officers from SPB Strumica arrested a 22-year-old resident of that village after, according to the report, at around 03:00 in the village of Bansko he had physically assaulted a 26-year-old woman with whom he had been in a romantic relationship. He was also held at the Strumica Police Station, and the case was reported to the public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Strumica. After full documentation, the appropriate complaint will be filed.
