Durrës police have arrested a 38-year-old man after a fire he allegedly lit to burn weeds got out of control and spread to a warehouse belonging to a private company.

The incident occurred in the city’s Neighborhood No. 14. Investigators found that the suspect, identified by the initials A. N. and a resident of Durrës, had lit a fire near the warehouse to burn some weeds.
The fire spread uncontrollably to the warehouse premises, causing considerable property damage.
The 38-year-old was arrested by crime investigation officers from the Durrës Police Station.
The case file has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Durrës Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction, which will continue investigating to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
