DUI Raises Alarm: All 10 Directors at the Ministry of Defence Are Macedonian, Albanians Have No Senior Representation

DUI said in a press release that official information published by the Ministry of Defence shows that all 10 director positions at the institution are held by Macedonians. According to the party, no Albanian holds a senior position at director level.

According to DUI, such a situation constitutes a serious violation of the principle of fair and adequate representation, which it considers one of the foundations of institutional stability and interethnic relations in the country.

“Mutual trust, balance and the inclusion of all communities are essential in the security and defence sector. Excluding Albanians from the levels where strategic decisions are made undermines this trust, creates a sense of marginalisation and damages the multiethnic character of the institutions responsible for the security of all citizens.”

DUI also expressed concern over what it described as Vlen’s silence. “After more than two years in power, its representatives have failed to secure even minimal Albanian representation in key security institutions. The lack of results demonstrates an inability to defend Albanian interests and a capture that has left them voiceless in the face of discriminatory decisions,” DUI said.
