Over the past 24 hours, police have detained 11 drivers in various parts of North Macedonia suspected of the criminal offense of “careless driving,” as provided for under Article 297-a of the Criminal Code, the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia said.

Among those detained, 10 were driving without licenses. They are J.V. (39), E.R. (30), S.M. (39) and a 17-year-old from Skopje; R.M. (24) from Bitola; J.V., aged 42, and L.R. (64) from Demirhisar; M.A., aged 18, and J.D. (22) from Prilep; and J.S. (36) from Kočani.
Police also detained M.K. (40) from Makedonski Brod for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The Ministry of Interior said that, after the cases have been documented, criminal charges will be filed against the individuals in question. The authorities called on drivers to respect traffic rules and not to drive without passing the driving test, while subject to a driving ban, or under the influence of alcohol, in order to increase traffic safety.
