DP: SAI report on ISUV reveals serious violations, Vangjeli calls for Rama’s removal

The Democratic Party reacted after the publication of the report by the Supreme State Audit on the Food Safety and Veterinary Institute (ISUV), describing it as evidence of serious violations in public administration and calling for Prime Minister Edi Rama’s resignation.

In a statement to the media, the DP’s spokesperson on Anti-Corruption, Genta Vangjeli, said that the findings of the Supreme State Audit reveal a deep problem in the functioning of state institutions, as well as in the way public funds are managed.

According to the Supreme State Audit report, a series of violations were identified during the audit carried out at ISUV. For these findings, 16 organizational measures, 2 compensation measures for damages, 4 measures to eliminate negative effects in the administration of public funds, as well as 23 disciplinary measures against the institution’s employees were recommended.

The DP also points to the tendering procedures, for which the report states that a person had been included on the bid evaluation commission who had started their employment relationship with ISUV 21 days after the order establishing the commission.

At the end of her reaction, Vangjeli stressed that when legal violations and institutional irregularities are repeated, responsibility cannot remain only administrative, but must also be political, thus calling for the prime minister’s resignation.
