Publicist Adriatik Riza Dosti has erupted in strong accusations against Prime Minister Edi Rama, describing him as a figure who is seriously damaging the national interests of Albanians. In a long analysis full of harsh tones, he places Rama opposite the historical figure of Esat Pashë Toptani, challenging the traditional perception of who deserves the label of traitor.

According to Dosti, official Albanian history has branded Esat Pasha as a symbol of treason, but the same standard is not being applied to the actions of the current head of government. “Albanians, learn your national history well… the traitor is called Edvin Rama and not Esat Pasha,” he states forcefully in his writing.
The list of criticisms the publicist directs at Rama is long and touches on some of the most sensitive issues in Albanian politics. He begins with the acceptance of Syrian chemical weapons, a decision that, according to him, was blocked only thanks to massive popular protests. Then, Dosti mentions the agreement with Italy to set up refugee camps in Shëngjin and Gjadër, stressing that Rama “knelt several times before Meloni like a lapdog.”
The Butrint issue also holds an important place in his accusations. Dosti claims that the prime minister has been selling this national asset to Lord Jakob Rothschild for several years. Likewise, he calls Rama the first Albanian prime minister since Enver Hoxha in 1948 to visit Belgrade and later receive Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Tirana with state honors, whom he describes as a “criminal.”
The relationship with Greece does not escape criticism. The publicist speaks of a secret agreement on the division of the sea, which he says will come to light very soon. Also in focus are the projects in Sazan and Karaburun, which according to him have been sold under the guise of tourism development.
A separate chapter of accusations relates to Kosovo and regional politics. Dosti accuses Rama of calling northern Kosovo and Mitrovica “no man’s land,” while he sees the “Open Balkan” initiative as a stab in the back for the neighboring state, created together with Vučić. The opening of Serbian consulates in Shkodër and Albanian ones in Bujanoc, as well as the proposal to dissolve 15 municipalities with historical identity, complete the picture of his grievances.
Dosti also devotes special attention to the idea of creating a Bektashi State in Tirana, which he considers a flagrant violation of Article 1 of the Constitution. On the demographic front, he claims that over one million Albanians have left during Rama’s governance, while the country is being filled with citizens from Asia, Africa and other regions. These assertions, we emphasize, are the author’s positions and not independently verified data.
Referring to the Zvërnec scandal and the 80-day marathon protest that has engulfed Tirana and all of Albania, the publicist predicts a bitter political end for the prime minister. In conclusion, he raises a rhetorical question that sums up all his indignation: “What more must happen to our poor, robbed, plundered, humiliated, sold and betrayed Albania for Edvin Rama to be called a traitor?”
Dosti ends his reaction by denouncing what he sees as a double standard in judging Albanian history and politics, inviting citizens to reconsider how they evaluate figures of the past and present.
