Residents oppose the inclusion of Divjakë Municipality in the territorial reorganization plan and its merger with Lushnjë Municipality. Although participation was lower than in previous days, the protesters said they would continue their stand until their demands are taken into consideration.
According to the protesters, they have faced not only verbal pressure but also fines imposed on businesses. They see this as an attempt to weaken and halt the protest, but say they will not back down.
The residents are demanding that Divjakë remain a separate local government unit and not be merged with Lushnjë. According to them, any decision on territorial reorganization must be based on the will and interests of the community.
After the protest, the citizens marched through the city’s streets, repeating the slogans “Mazniku proposes, Divjakë opposes,” “Divjakë municipality,” and “Divjakë belongs to the citizens, not those in power.”
The march ended with the call “More tomorrow,” with which the protesters warned that the resistance would continue in the coming days.
