Divjaka continues protest as residents oppose dissolution of municipality for 37th day

The protest by Divjaka residents against the new administrative-territorial reform has entered its 37th day, with citizens once again taking to the streets to oppose the ruling majority’s plan to dissolve the Municipality of Divjaka. Through their resistance, the community is demanding the plan’s cancellation, saying it would leave the area without representation and public services.

During the rally in the square, protesters demanded accountability from local MPs and the prime minister. They said Divjaka must not be left without local institutions, stressing that weakening the autonomy of a municipality of major agricultural and tourism importance would directly affect household finances and the area’s prospects.

After the speeches, residents continued their protest with a mass march through the city’s main streets. Chanting against the central government’s unilateral decisions, they made it clear that the protest would continue without interruption until Divjaka’s administrative status is fully protected.
