Divjaka continues its 43rd protest against being dissolved as a municipality: Residents oppose Mazniku’s proposal

The protest by citizens of Divjaka against the new administrative-territorial platform proposed by the Socialist Party has entered its 43rd day. Residents are calling for the initiative not to be approved by Parliament, where it is expected to be reviewed in the coming days.

According to journalist Juljan Kasapi, no public consultation has been held with residents of Divjaka or the administrative units of Tërbuf, Gradishtë, Grabjan and Remas as part of this platform.

On Friday evening, the protest took place without speeches, while citizens repeated the slogans “Divjaka as a municipality, Mazniku proposes, Divjaka opposes” and “Divjaka belongs to its citizens, not those in power,” among others.

After the gathering ended, the protesters continued their nightly march through the city’s streets, chanting and calling for support. At the end, they declared: “More tomorrow.”
