Director of NP “Komunalec” in Gostivar dismissed, urgent municipal council meeting called

The Mayor of Gostivar, Valbon Limani, announced that the worsening situation in the city will be discussed at an extraordinary meeting of the Municipal Council. He added that the emergency headquarters will soon be activated to implement measures aimed at helping overcome the problems caused by the rising number of those affected.

During a media appearance, Limani stated that Artana Asani, who headed the Public Enterprise “Komunalec,” has been suspended from duty along with several other officials responsible for the city’s water supply sector.

The mayor called on the competent authorities to conduct the investigation impartially, emphasizing that the local administration will cooperate fully until the matter is clarified and the current crisis is overcome.

Local authorities will publish data on residents facing difficulties in securing drinking water, so that supplies can be distributed at points as close as possible to their homes.

In closing, Limani thanked all those who contributed throughout the day to coping with the shortage of drinking water in the area.
