Dimal Basha lifts restriction on heavy vehicle traffic in Kosovo

Acting Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, announced that he has revoked the measure that prohibited or restricted the movement of heavy vehicles on regional, national roads and highways of Kosovo.

The decision was adopted at the start of the summer season and was implemented during days with high temperatures. Its purpose was to prevent possible damage to the road infrastructure caused by the weight and traffic of heavy vehicles under such conditions.

Basha appreciated the cooperation of the Kosovo Police during the implementation of the measure. He also thanked the citizens and operators for respecting the decision and for their understanding during the restriction period.

In his announcement, the minister stated that a day earlier he had revoked the decision taken at the beginning of the summer season on restricting heavy vehicle traffic on regional, national roads and highways.

According to him, the measure had been in force during the period of high temperatures, with the aim of protecting the road infrastructure from possible damage that could be caused by the traffic of these vehicles under such conditions.

Dimal Basha expressed particular gratitude to the Kosovo Police for the continuous coordination and cooperation, as well as to all citizens and operators who respected the decision.
