Kosovo Police have taken investigative action over suspicions that several people used telecommunications and technological devices to provide candidates with answers remotely during the written driving licence test.

The case is being handled by the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption, through its Regional Unit in South Mitrovica, following information received about unlawful activities.
On August 31, 2026, police received information that several candidates would take the test using communication devices. Following immediate action, a vehicle was stopped, and a search uncovered and led to the seizure of devices suspected of being used during the test.
With the authorization of the State Prosecutor, two other locations were also searched, but no suspicious items were found during the raids.
Communication devices suspected of having been fitted to two suspects, as well as four mobile phones, were taken as material evidence.
By order of the State Prosecutor, four suspected individuals were placed in custody. Another person was released, while proceedings against that individual will be conducted through the regular procedure.
Kosovo Police, in cooperation with the State Prosecutor, are continuing investigative actions to fully document the incident and identify other individuals who may have taken part in it.
The case remains under investigation by the Regional Unit for the Investigation of Economic Crimes and Corruption – South Mitrovica.
