Suspicions of Driving Test Manipulation in Mitrovica, Pretrial Detention Sought for Three People

The General Department of the Basic Prosecution Office in Mitrovica has asked the Basic Court in Mitrovica to impose pretrial detention on three defendants identified by the initials H.K., A.G. and E.G. They are suspected of the criminal offense of “Accepting Bribes in the Private Sector.”

The Prosecution’s request states that there is grounded suspicion that, on February 6, 2026, inside the Mitrovica Bus Station building, H.K., an instructor at a driving school, and A.G., a former instructor at the same driving school, received unspecified sums of money to secure candidates’ passage of the theoretical driving license test.

The Prosecution suspects that an electronic device with a camera had been installed in the clothing of candidate K.K., while an earpiece had been placed in her ear. Through these devices, she was allegedly given the correct answers during the test. According to the same allegations, this method was also used with candidate A.D.

Another case allegedly occurred on August 31, 2026, when H.K. and E.G., acting in cooperation, allegedly accepted unknown sums of money to enable candidates A.R. and F.Z. to pass the theoretical driving license test.

According to the Prosecution, candidate A.R. was provided with a black shirt into which an electronic device had been installed, as well as an earpiece. Candidate F.Z., meanwhile, was allegedly given a black vest with an electronic device installed and an earpiece.

The request alleges that the suspects had been instructed to receive the correct answers during the test using these devices.

The Basic Court in Mitrovica will hold a hearing at which the request to impose pretrial detention is expected to be examined.
