Deputies Receive Invitations to the Constitutive Session of the Assembly, Agenda Published

Albulena Haxhiu, Acting President and former Speaker of the Assembly, has sent elected deputies invitations to the constitutive session, which will be held on Thursday starting at 10:00 a.m.

Along with the invitation, the deputies were also sent the agenda for the session.

The proceedings will begin with the formation of a temporary commission that will verify the quorum and the deputies’ mandates, followed by their swearing-in.

The third item on the agenda is the election of the Speaker of the Assembly, while the session will conclude with the election of the deputy speakers.

The first meeting will be chaired by the oldest and youngest deputies present in the Assembly hall.

According to Article 67, the candidacy for Speaker of the Assembly is put forward by the largest parliamentary group. His election requires a majority of the votes of all deputies, namely 61 of the 120 votes.

The deputies must also elect five deputy speakers of the Assembly. The three largest parliamentary groups will each propose one deputy speaker, while the other two will be proposed by the non-majority communities.
