Deliu-Kodra calls on government to send draft law on the Specialist Chambers to parliament

PDK lawmaker Blerta Deliu-Kodra has called on the government and Justice Minister Donika Gërvalla to submit the draft law on the Specialist Chambers to parliament.

She said statements by government officials must be followed by concrete steps and that the initiative should not be delayed or treated as part of the routine daily agenda.

Deliu-Kodra stressed that Kosovo’s parliament should act together, regardless of party affiliation, to pass a law that would serve the leaders of the KLA and Kosovo.

She recalled that the political parties had approved a joint declaration, which received 99 votes in parliament and described the sentence as unjust.

The PDK lawmaker said that position should be followed by an institutional commitment to draft and pass the relevant law.

“Beyond the statements we hear from government officials, we need concrete action. That means bringing this law to parliament. Statements must turn into actions and positions we can see,” she said.

Deliu-Kodra also warned that the situation in Kosovo cannot be presented as normal, saying the passage of 35 laws should not be used to create that impression.
