CMC reports 14 wildfires during the day, two still remain active

The Crisis Management Center (CMC) announced that by 20:00 today, 14 fires in open areas had been recorded across the country. According to the statement, 12 of them have been extinguished, while two remain active.

The hotspots that have still not been contained are located near the stadium in Kičevo, where straw and dry grass are burning, as well as near the tunnel on the side road in Bitola.

During the day, fires were brought under control and extinguished in Demir Kapija, Gjorče Petrov, Centar (in two locations), Novaci, Prilep, Debar, Debarca, Sveti Nikole, Kočani, Probištip and Kumanovo.

The areas and facilities affected by the flames included dry grass, straw, wheat fields, degraded forest, landfills, waste, as well as an auxiliary building, two houses and a passenger vehicle.

CMC stressed that the responsible services are continuing to closely monitor the development of the situation and act at the active fire sites.
