Clashes in the Durrës i Ri protest, residents block the road: we will close the route every day!

The protest in the Durrës i Ri neighborhood, along “Vllazërimi” street, degenerated into tensions between residents and drivers. Citizens blocked vehicle movement as part of their action, which brought harsh reactions from motorists and heated debates.

One of the protest participants, who got involved in the discussions, stated that the neighborhood has long suffered from chronic flooding and that blocking the road is the only tool to raise awareness among authorities. He emphasized that his home has been flooded three times and added that they are people with troubles, while the head of the government, according to him, spends staggering sums.

The rally on this road section lasted about 60 minutes, under the observation of police forces at the scene. After it ended, the group of residents voluntarily left and vehicle circulation returned to normal flow.
