Cërrik Tragedy Claims Two Lives, Smart Driver Was a Teacher

Two people lost their lives and another was injured in the serious accident that occurred in Cërrik.

Police officially announced that two vehicles, driven by 38-year-old Sajmir Muça and 63-year-old Qemal Çala, were involved in the collision.

Qemal Çala, who was driving the Smart vehicle, died at the scene. He was a teacher at the “Osman Gjini” school in Cërrik, and news of his death has shaken his family, colleagues and the educational community of the Municipality of Cërrik, and beyond.

Drilon Tabaku, 22, who was travelling as a passenger with Çala, also lost his life in the accident. The driver of the other vehicle, 38-year-old Sajmir Muça, sustained injuries and was urgently taken to hospital, where he remains under medical care.

The victims have been identified as 63-year-old Qemal Çala, a teacher at the “Osman Gjinishi” school in Cërrik, and 22-year-old Drilon Tabaku. The incident has caused deep sorrow in the Cërrik community.

Police services and the investigative team carried out the relevant procedures at the scene. Under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office, investigators are continuing their work to fully determine the causes and circumstances of the accident.
