Cërrik Residents Oppose New Territorial Division and Merger with Elbasan

Residents of Cërrik staged a protest on Monday against the territorial reform, voicing their opposition to the municipality’s merger with Elbasan.

As the municipality with the second-largest population in Elbasan County, Cërrik is demanding to know the reasons that could lead to its dissolution.

During the rally, protesters drew attention once again to statements by the Prime Minister, who had previously cited the Municipality of Cërrik as a positive model of local governance.

Participants warned that the protests would continue until their demands and voices were heard.

They also called on the administration to join them in defending the city.

Democratic Party MPs attended the protest, while participants also called on Socialist Party lawmakers to speak out on the issue.
