Caretaker Government approves annual report on internal financial control and opening of the “Confiscation Fund”

At a meeting held electronically, the caretaker Government of the Republic of Kosovo made two decisions related to the management of public finances and the handling of confiscated assets.

During this meeting, the Consolidated Annual Report on the Functioning of the Public Internal Financial Control System in public sector entities for 2025 was approved.

At the same meeting, the executive also approved authorizing the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary steps to open a special account within the Treasury Single Account (LlVTH), which will be named the “Confiscation Fund.”

Based on this decision, this account will be used solely for receiving and recording revenues stemming from asset confiscation, when this has been determined by final court decisions.

According to the Government, the establishment of this account is intended to enable more orderly and transparent administration of the financial resources secured through asset confiscation.
