Bujanovac journalist responds to Blerim Latifi: Kosovo cannot repay its debt to the Albanians of Macedonia

Nexhat Behluli, a journalist and owner of RTV Spektri in Bujanovac, has reacted sharply to Kosovar analyst and professor Blerim Latifi following the latter’s comments on the identity and social behavior of Albanians in North Macedonia.

The public polemic was sparked by a statement from Latifi, also distributed by the INA news agency, which said: “An Albanian from Macedonia may grab you by the throat over Palestine, but when their Albanian name is changed, they turn their head the other way.”

Following this statement, Behluli reacted immediately, accusing part of the opinion-making class in Kosovo of lacking gratitude and of maintaining constant prejudice toward Albanians living outside Kosovo’s borders.

“The number of Albanians from Kosovo, especially those who have media influence, who find excuses at every turn to go after the Albanians of Macedonia and the Albanians of the Valley, is not small!

Look at what this ‘intellectual’ Blerim Latifi says about the Albanians of Macedonia — this man with the snout of a wild boar, this man who during the war in Kosovo carried a piss-poor Chinese rifle, hidden away in the mountains of Drenica without ever firing a single bullet, while his family members were safe among the Albanians of Macedonia, among those very Albanians whom he is now talking shit about, judging their Albanian identity, while never once having publicly praised them, because this pig carried a Chinese rifle and has spent his whole life selling patriotism.

But some of us are witnesses to one truth: the Albanians of Kosovo can never repay the debt they owe to the Albanians of Macedonia for receiving and sheltering Kosovar refugees!”, Behluli wrote. /INA/
