Bodybuilder Mateusz Chmura died in hospital after collapsing on stage on Sunday while competing in the PCA finals in Britain. The tragedy occurred a day before his 34th birthday.
Chmura, who was from Wakefield, initially received first aid at the scene of the incident, which was described as deeply distressing. He was then airlifted to hospital, where his death was later confirmed.

The cause of his death remains unknown. The UK’s Physical Culture Association announced his death, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the athlete.
The PCA event was Chmura’s second bodybuilding competition. He had made his debut just two weeks earlier, finishing second in his first contest.
His death has also left his family devastated. Just two months before the tragedy, Chmura had married his wife, Patricia.
Following her husband’s death, Patricia spoke publicly about an alleged online fundraising campaign in his name. In an Instagram post, she made clear that she had not given anyone permission to raise money for her or her family.
In her statement, Patricia urged people to be wary of such initiatives. She stressed that she would not want anyone to lose their hard-earned money believing they were helping the family during this difficult time.
