Brawl at New Jersey Prison, Diddy Placed in Isolation; Release Date Uncertain

Artist and entrepreneur Sean Combs, known to the public as Diddy, was allegedly involved in a violent altercation with a fellow inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution, Fort Dix, and subsequently transferred to isolation.

American media reports, citing sources close to the matter, say the incident occurred early this week after another inmate insulted the 56-year-old.

The confrontation began as a physical scuffle and quickly escalated into an exchange of punches. According to witnesses, Combs responded to the attack before security guards intervened and separated the two participants.

Following the clash, Sean Combs was placed in an isolation cell. The exact date of the incident is unknown, nor is it clear if he remains separated from the other inmates.

A representative of the correctional facility declined to make any statement about the event. “To ensure privacy, safety and security, we do not provide information on an individual’s conditions of confinement, including the housing unit, and we do not confirm whether any detainee has been the subject of a complaint, investigation or disciplinary measure,” she said.

Diddy’s legal team also did not immediately respond to press inquiries.

Analysts warn that such an incident could negatively affect his legal future, because any disciplinary sanction within the prison could push back the completion of his sentence. He is currently expected to be released on February 8, 2028, but the consequences of the brawl could alter that timeline.

Sean Combs was found guilty in October 2025 on two counts of transporting individuals for purposes of prostitution, in violation of the federal Mann Act. Following the verdict, he received a sentence of four years and two months in prison, a five-year period of supervised release, and a $500,000 fine.

As of now, neither the prison administration nor the rapper’s lawyers have officially confirmed the fight or any additional measures taken against him.
