On a Tuesday afternoon in Velipojë, the Shkodër Border Police intervened to help a citizen who had been left at sea after his vessel broke down and he was at risk of drowning.
As soon as notification was received about the boat that had suffered a malfunction and was stranded in difficulty in the water, Border Police services immediately organized an operation to locate it and provide assistance.

Border Police vessels were deployed for the search, along with local tourism operators, who helped find the vessel, as its location was initially unknown.
After checks in the field, the vessel was found in the depths of the Buna River, about 17 miles from the river mouth.
Checks showed that it was a “Morea” type speedboat, operated by citizen A. B., 46, a resident of Prishtina, who had been left at sea due to an engine malfunction.
The Border Police provided the necessary assistance to the citizen and safely escorted him, together with the vessel, to the mooring station for watercraft in Pulaj, Velipojë.
The Border Police stresses that it remains fully committed to serving citizens, visitors and tourists. In this context, it asks citizens to call 112 in cases of need.
