Berisha calls on Democrats to support the smooth running of the citizens’ protest

Democratic Party Chairman Sali Berisha has publicly called on members and supporters of the political force to join the citizens’ revolt, which has been taking place for weeks on Tirana’s boulevard, and to strongly support it.

In a statement, the opposition leader described the resistance of young people and citizens as “epic heroism.” According to him, this resistance is continuing despite what Berisha describes as government terror by Edi Rama and his structures against participants and organisers.

Berisha said the peaceful movement has already gained broad international support and represents a historic moment for Albania, comparing it to the movements of the early 1990s.

“The peaceful uprising of Albanian youth and citizens continued undefeated, securing major international support. Once again expressing my strongest support for this movement, for this unprecedented protest since the 1990s in Albania’s history, I call on every female and male Democrat to take part in its spirit as citizens and to do everything for its success,” Berisha said.
