Begaj passes through Kosovo in transit, police warn of temporary traffic disruptions

During the course of today, there will be temporary traffic stoppages on several road routes in Kosovo due to the transit passage of Albania’s president, Bajram Begaj, the Kosovo Police have announced.

According to the police, all operational measures have been undertaken and the relevant units have been engaged to ensure the official escort, as well as to enable the smooth flow of movement along the planned itinerary.

Traffic interruptions will be implemented for short periods on road segments from the border crossing point in Vërmicë to the one in Dheu i Bardhë, as well as in the opposite direction during the delegation’s return.

“In order to enable free movement according to the travel itinerary, on 08.07.2026, the Kosovo Police will carry out temporary traffic interruptions (at short time intervals) on several road segments from the Vërmicë Border Crossing Point to the Dheu i Bardhë Border Crossing Point and vice versa, also during the return on the same date, when traffic may also be redirected to alternative routes.”

“The Kosovo Police thank in advance all citizens and road traffic participants for their full understanding,” the police statement said.
