The Democratic Union for Integration has issued a strong stance after the insults that Ivan Stoilkoviq directed at MP Arbana Pasholli, emphasizing that this behavior reveals the essence of the executive’s relationship with Albanian representatives. The party demands that the prime minister take responsibility and speak publicly about the case.
According to BDI, Stoilkoviq’s offensive words are not an isolated episode, but express the spirit of the VMRO-VLEN-ZNAM governing coalition, which instead of respecting the legitimate Albanian voice, tramples it and chooses allies among those who enjoy no popular support, neither voice nor dignity.

The reaction calls it shameful that an individual with a past filled with anti-Albanian statements and who until recently held the post of deputy prime minister for inter-ethnic community issues, is now rewarded with an even more powerful ministry. This, according to them, does not show commitment to inter-ethnic dialogue, but rather despises and fuels conflict.
Furthermore, BDI considers it even more serious that this advancement in office was made possible thanks to the votes of VLEN MPs. They have no right to present themselves as defenders of Albanian interests while supporting the rise of a politician who openly expresses hostile and offensive attitudes towards Albanians. Their silence and vote constitute political co-responsibility, the statement underlines.
“Today the target of the verbal attack was an Albanian MP. Tomorrow, with the same logic, every voice that does not serve this government will be struck. So this is not just about Arbana, but about the dignity of all women in politics and the political representation of Albanians,” the reaction states.
BDI expresses full solidarity with MP Pasholli and demands that political responsibility be taken immediately. The prime minister cannot remain silent in the face of this behavior, as any silence will be read as approval. The executive must come before the citizens and show whether hate speech, insults, and humiliation of Albanian MPs are the new political standard it promotes.
Finally, BDI warns that Albanians will not allow the insulting of their representatives to become normalcy, while those who gave their vote become passive spectators or collaborators of such political degradation.
