Granit Syla, B. Demiri’s lawyer, said his client denies committing the crime he is suspected of in connection with the case of his son and granddaughter, who were found dead on Sunday in Gjilan.
Syla said he attended the hearing on Demiri’s pretrial detention, which the Basic Prosecution Office in Gjilan had requested. According to the lawyer, the suspect stated that he did not commit the crime.

The lawyer said that, at the time he responded, the defense had not yet received the court’s decision on the detention request. Once it receives the decision, it will review it and determine its next procedural steps in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code.
As for further details, Syla said they could comment depending on how the proceedings develop, as the case is still under investigation.
The incident occurred on November 1 in the village of Demiraj in Gjilan. A 27-year-old man and his three-month-old daughter were found dead there. The investigation is being conducted on suspicion of aggravated murder.
