ASH: Albanians make up 40.3% of the unemployed in the country

The Alliance for Albanians has reacted to the Government’s employment policies, noting that over 35,000 Albanians are unemployed, while quotas have been set for the arrival of 10,000 foreign workers.

Data cited by ASH shows that 35,757 Albanians are registered as active unemployed. According to the party, this figure represents about 40.3 percent of the total unemployed in the country.

The party emphasizes that over 60 percent of employers declare they need staff, while there are more than 10,000 job vacancies on the market. Despite this, the Government has opened quotas for the employment of 10,000 foreign nationals.

ASH has also criticized the VLEN coalition, asking what its contribution is in the face of this employment situation.

According to the Albanian opposition, Mickoski has declared that 17,000 new jobs have been created, while VLEN claims to have achieved around 2,000 employments and advancements. ASH considers even this figure to be inflated, as it includes both employments and advancements.

Another concern raised by the party relates to the departure of young Albanians. ASH says the lack of professional and economic opportunities is pushing them to emigrate to Germany, Switzerland, Austria and other European countries.

“Macedonia is importing workers. Albanians are exporting their children,” the Alliance for Albanians’ reaction states.

In closing, ASH accuses VLEN of having focused attention on government functions and positions, without, according to it, bringing sufficient results in the employment of Albanians.

“This is their balance sheet. More power for VLEN, fewer Albanians in the country,” declares ASH.
