Arben Gashi calls for new elections in the LDK

Arben Gashi, an elected MP of the Democratic League of Kosovo, has called for the organization of new elections within the party, assessing that this is the right path for the party and its leadership.

He said that “the elections should lead toward unity around a new leadership.”

In a Facebook post, Gashi wrote: “Let us return to the source of our strength: democracy, meritocracy and values. Let us go to elections within the LDK, not to divide, but to unite around a new legitimacy, a new leadership and a shared mission.”

He further emphasized: “Trust is the greatest capital of a political force. It is not built on individuals, but on ideals, values and a program that serves the state, freedom, the market economy, private property and development. It is precisely this trust that brings people together in a party and convinces citizens to entrust it with leading the country. When, over several elections in a row, we fail to win the trust of the majority, we should not look for culprits. We should look for answers. In center-right politics, responsibility is a virtue, not a weakness. Only through reflection, merit and responsibility is trust restored.”

According to Gashi, the electoral process should not be seen as an obstacle, but as a way out. “Therefore, elections are not the problem. Elections are the solution. They are the mechanism that restores legitimacy, trust and energy for a new political cycle. Neither the LDK nor Kosovo should settle for third place. This cannot become normal. Our membership, structures and electorate demand more. They demand an LDK that wins, that governs and that leads with vision. Let us return to the source of our strength: democracy, meritocracy and values. Let us go to elections within the LDK, not to divide, but to unite around a new legitimacy, a new leadership and a shared mission,” Gashi said.
