Arben Gashi: LDK will not accept subjugation or blackmail

LDK lawmaker Arben Gashi has said that changes in the party’s positions over the past 18 months have made it difficult for voters to understand what it stands for.

In a post, Gashi traced the shift from a position that there would be no talks with Kurti, to a call for elections, then to an aim of governing together and, most recently, to a proposal to elect the President together.

According to Gashi, the country has gone through three elections during this period and risks heading into a fourth, while remaining without a government or functioning institutions. He said voters could not be blamed for the uncertainty over LDK’s direction.

Gashi also criticized figures in Vetëvendosje who, he said, are trying to blame six LDK lawmakers for their failure to subjugate the party and Kosovo. He raised questions about LDK’s principles, consistency, direction and ideals, stressing that the party would accept neither subjugation nor blackmail.

The lawmaker called for a return to principles and to the people, as well as an LDK with policies, programs, alliances and a vision for the country’s development. He said the party should cooperate without abandoning its identity and principles, be clear in its positions, consistent in its decisions and credible in its actions.

Gashi ended his post with a call not to wait for the LDK that Kosovo needs, but to build it together, now.
