The Police Oversight Agency concluded an operation in Durrës on Tuesday, carried out as part of criminal proceedings for the offenses of “Passive corruption by persons exercising public functions” and “Abuse of office.”

As a result, one police officer was arrested in the act, while two others will be investigated while at liberty.
The operation was finalized on 15 September 2026 in connection with criminal proceeding No. 100/2026. The actions were carried out by the Durrës-Kavajë Regional Directorate, in cooperation with the General Directorate of the AMP and under the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor’s Office of General Jurisdiction.
The arrested person is S. M., who served in the General Patrol Service Unit. Two other police officers were also referred for investigation while at liberty on charges of “Abuse of office.”
They are S. H., a Public Order Specialist at the Durrës Police Commissariat, and A. K., a member of the General Patrol Service Unit at the Durrës Police Commissariat. Following the completion of the procedural actions, the materials were forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tirana Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for the continuation of proceedings in accordance with the law.
