America’s 250th Independence Anniversary / Trump Speech Expected in Washington and Fireworks Spectacle

This Saturday, US President Donald Trump will take part in a major event at Washington’s National Mall to mark America’s 250th anniversary, in what he has described as a “spectacular rally.”

The event, organized through a public-private partnership with the support of the White House, will include flyovers by hundreds of military and civilian aircraft, as well as a giant fireworks display that organizers hope will be the largest ever staged.

According to organizers, the flyovers above Washington will take place every hour from 13:15 local time until sunset. One of the aerial formations will also include the new presidential aircraft, Air Force One.

However, the event has been accompanied by controversy. Trump’s opponents have accused him of politicizing the national holiday, while some music groups withdrew from participation immediately after the program was announced.

Organizers are also facing other challenges, as temperatures are expected to reach around 38°C, accompanied by high humidity, which could affect attendance.

Meteorologists are also warning of possible evening storms, which could disrupt the ceremonies.

During an event in North Dakota earlier this week, Trump promised he would deliver a “really long speech” during the July 4 celebrations, joking that he wanted “to show that he can do everything.”

The official celebrations will begin at 19:00 local time.

The July 4 fireworks display is an annual tradition in Washington, DC, and Trump has promised that this year’s version, which is scheduled to begin after his speech, will be “the biggest fireworks show in history.”

According to the event’s organizers, approximately 850,000 fireworks will be launched from 10 locations across the city, including eight boats on the Potomac River. The event is expected to last 40 minutes, twice as long as the usual display, which features around 20,000 fireworks.
