Aliu: If the country goes to early elections, the Government reshuffle loses its meaning

Health Minister Azir Aliu has stated that a Government reshuffle and involvement in such processes would make no sense if early elections were also being planned.

In an appearance on “Click Plus” on “TV21,” Aliu said that together with coalition partners they should focus on the two-year period until the regular elections, with the aim of closing all open issues, because, according to him, major challenges lie ahead that require solutions.

“It would not have been logical to make these changes and spend all this energy if we had been planning early parliamentary elections. We expect all these open processes to have a greater impact on society, both in economic terms and in terms of citizens’ well-being. For this reason, we are reorganizing internally so that the results are more visible, faster, and any other move to reorganize political activities would have made no sense if we were heading to early parliamentary elections, because as you know, three months beforehand we must have a technical Government, which means the space narrows not only in terms of early elections, but six months before them the government is half-passive. We have very big challenges, we have demands that are real and logical and to which we must provide solutions, and during this two-year period we must focus and complete all the open processes,” Aliu said.

He also touched on the bar exam, for which he said VLEN already has a solution. According to him, 70 percent of the exam, which includes the theoretical part, will be conducted in Albanian, while the practical part will be taken in Macedonian.

Aliu stressed that they are trying to build solutions based on the country’s legal infrastructure, so that in the future problems with the Constitutional Court and other courts can be avoided.

“VLEN sat down from day one, identified the moment and the legal and political challenges in resolving this problem, and now there is a solution in line with the laws and the legal infrastructure in the country, so that tomorrow we do not have problems in the Constitutional Court and other courts raising the question of whether it is constitutional or not,” Aliu said.
