Albania and Eurojust confirm expanded cooperation in tackling cross-border crime

In The Hague, Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari met with Eurojust President Michael Schmid to discuss further deepening cooperation in the fight against cross-border crime.

According to Lamallari, the meeting highlighted the stable partnership between Albania and Eurojust, a cooperation that is delivering concrete results in the investigation of complex criminal offenses, drug trafficking, money laundering and online fraud.

The minister also praised the support Eurojust is providing to Albanian institutions, as well as the important role of the Liaison Prosecutor in strengthening judicial cooperation with European Union countries.

Lamallari underlined that Albania will remain a reliable partner in joint efforts for security, justice and the rule of law, while stressing that support for justice institutions is essential on the path toward meeting European standards.

This meeting took place within the framework of ongoing cooperation between Albanian institutions and European justice agencies to strengthen the fight against cross-border crime.
