Ahmetaj: There are 3 hours of wiretaps, next week two other excerpts will be made public

Former deputy prime minister Arben Ahmetaj has warned that new parts of a wiretap recording will be made public, saying he has about 3 hours of material.

During the interview on “Çim Peka LIVE” on SYRI TV, he emphasized that so far only about 12 minutes of the recording have been made public and that two other excerpts are expected to come out next week.

“Two other excerpts from the wiretap. What we have released, 12 minutes. There are three hours,” Ahmetaj stated.

During the conversation, Çim Peka noted that the people involved in the wiretap have admitted that the audio is authentic, but have claimed that the recording was made without permission. He also recalled that in their sixth interview together, Ahmetaj had mentioned the wiretap in Monaco, and asked him whether he has that material.

Ahmetaj replied that he had received with laughter the reaction of that company, which he said he had not known before. He added that he does not know in what premises the wiretap was made, nor who carried it out. To respond in his own way, he warned that next week he will publish one or two other excerpts, saying “enough with the threats, tell him.”

He listed a series of threats that he says have been made against him, including those from the head of the organization, with brains, without brains, as well as from “hawks,” prosecutors, former prosecutors and “post rrogozit.” Ahmetaj stressed that he is not impressed that the company threatens him.

Peka clarified for the public that that day was Monday and that a week later two other excerpts would come out. Ahmetaj repeated: “Two other excerpts from the wiretap. What we have released, 12 minutes. There are three hours.”

When asked whether “Monaco exists,” he replied that all of Europe exists there, not just Monaco, and that Monaco has become the center of some photographs, wiretaps and “wonders.” According to him, they have acted not only on islands, but also in Munich and Monaco, where he mentioned former ministers, former secretaries, former brothers and former brothers-in-law.

To the question of why these wiretaps come to him, Ahmetaj said that the material that came to him he released immediately, with sadness, and that he does not know who sent it. He added that previously Berisha was the “digital citizen,” while now others have turned into “digital evidence.” “Why to you? Now, why to me?” he asked rhetorically. According to him, when the institution that brought him the material is identified, a letter can be sent to that institution asking why it handed it precisely to Ben Ahmetaj. Ahmetaj underlined that faced with threats he makes no compromise and does not play games with his file, such as “look, I’m releasing it, I’m not releasing it” or “oh head of the organization do this, or X, or Y,” adding “zero, zero.”

At the end, Peka summarized that so far only 12 minutes out of a total of 3 hours have been released and that two other excerpts are expected after a week. Ahmetaj replied that maybe he could do this even tomorrow or the day after, but Peka chose to leave it for next Monday, joking that he will keep him a little in suspense, since “it has been 4, 10 years that he has made life miserable for Albanians.”
