After agreement on Bekim Sejdiu, LVV and LDK hold internal consultations today

After the agreement on Kosovo’s presidential candidate, political parties are expected to hold their internal consultations today, before taking further steps.

According to public television sources, the Vetëvendosje Movement will convene its parliamentary group in the late afternoon hours. This meeting is expected to review the steps to be taken after the agreement reached with the Democratic League of Kosovo on Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy for president.

The aim of the process is to complete the constitution of institutions and resolve the political deadlock.

The LDK will also hold consultations during the day. The party’s presidency will meet at 14:00, while the parliamentary group will hold its meeting at 16:00, where the agreement and future positions will be discussed.

The agreement on Bekim Sejdiu’s candidacy, reached after weeks of negotiations, is considered a step that could enable the functioning of institutions.

In addition to the agreement with the Democratic League of Kosovo, the Vetëvendosje Movement had attempted to include other political parties in this process.

The PDK, however, has insisted that it will remain in opposition, while the AAK has refused to participate in meetings without its 6 conditions being met.
