After 27 years of waiting, Salih Mëziu from the family of the missing “Group of Intellectuals” is identified

The Mëziu family from Marina, Skenderaj, has announced that, after more than 27 years, one of its 10 family members who went missing as part of the “Group of Intellectuals” has been identified.

According to the family’s announcement, the person identified is the family patriarch, Salih Mëziu.

The news has brought both pain and relief to his relatives, who, after a long wait, have finally received an answer about his fate.

The family said that the answer, although long-awaited, remains difficult and painful. For more than 27 years, they have lived with anguish, hope and uncertainty, not knowing where their relative was.

“Today, even though we have received an answer, our hearts remain broken,” the Mëziu family said in its announcement.

The family continues to await the identification of its other members, hoping that after so many years they will be able to hold a funeral ceremony and bid them a final farewell with the dignity they deserve.

The family said it is coordinating with the relevant institutions and is praying to receive information about its other members as soon as possible.
