Action against usury in Prizren: three people arrested, suspect hits 17-year-old girl while fleeing

Three people have been arrested in Prizren on suspicion of being involved in the criminal offense of usury.

According to media reports, those arrested are brothers Fadil Selimi and Beqir Selimi, as well as Arsim Dogani.

During the operation to stop them, one of the suspects allegedly failed to obey an order to stop the vehicle and attempted to flee.

Shaqir Bytyqi, spokesperson for the Police in the Prizren region, said that during the escape, the vehicle hit a 17-year-old female pedestrian.

“During the escape, he hit a 17-year-old female pedestrian who, according to the doctors’ assessment, sustained injuries and is out of danger,” Bytyqi said.

As he attempted to flee, the suspect also allegedly struck a police investigator from the General Police Directorate in Pristina.

“During the escape, the suspect also hit a police officer, an investigator from the General Police Directorate in Pristina, who sustained minor bodily injuries. Following the actions taken by police officers, he was stopped and arrested,” Bytyqi said.
