Abdixhiku on July 4: 1776 brought one of the most important events in modern history

The leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo, Lumir Abdixhiku, has conveyed his greetings for July 4, the Independence Day of the United States of America.

In a Facebook post, Abdixhiku said that July 4, 1776 represents one of the greatest moments in modern history, as it marks the birth of a state founded on the principles of freedom, democracy, human dignity, and the rule of law.

According to him, this date is linked not only to the founding of the United States of America, but also to the birth of a vision that, as he put it, has inspired entire peoples on their journey toward freedom, democracy, and peace.

“For more than two centuries, the United States of America has been one of the main pillars in the defense of democratic values, human rights, and international stability. Its role in supporting peoples who have fought for freedom has left indelible marks on world history.”

He stressed that for the Republic of Kosovo, the US is much more than a strategic ally, describing it as an unwavering friend, the most important partner, and a decisive supporter on the path toward freedom, independence, state-building, and the strengthening of democracy.

“For the Republic of Kosovo, the United States of America is much more than a strategic ally. It is our unwavering friend, our most important partner, and the decisive supporter in our journey toward freedom, independence, state-building, and the consolidation of democracy. America’s contribution to Kosovo is historic, extraordinary, and irreplaceable. This is a debt of gratitude that our generations will always remember.”

Abdixhiku added that the vision of an independent, sovereign Kosovo integrated into NATO and the European Union, with lasting friendship with the United States of America, remains one of the fundamental pillars of the political orientation of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

He linked this orientation to the vision of the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, whom he called the founding father of the Republic of Kosovo and the leader who built the state’s Euro-Atlantic philosophy.

“This was the vision of the historic President Dr. Ibrahim Rugova, the founding father of the Republic of Kosovo and the leader who built the Euro-Atlantic philosophy of our state. Today, as we celebrate together this great day of the American people, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to further deepen the special partnership between Kosovo and the US, built on trust, shared values, and the aspiration for a freer, more just, and safer world.”

In the end, the LDK leader said that on behalf of the party and in his personal name, he extends his warmest greetings to the Government and people of the United States of America on the occasion of Independence Day.

“On behalf of the Democratic League of Kosovo and in my personal name, I extend my warmest greetings to the Government and people of the United States of America on the occasion of Independence Day. Happy Fourth of July! God bless the United States of America! God bless the lasting friendship between the Republic of Kosovo and the United States of America,” the LDK leader wrote.
