Abdixhiku clarifies reports about signatures within the LDK and Kurti’s invitation for the new institutions

After the meeting of the Presidency of the Democratic League of Kosovo, the party’s leader, Lumir Abdixhiku, told the media that he would respond positively to the invitation of Kosovo’s acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, regarding the formation of the country’s new institutions.

He said that at that meeting, the LDK would present its position on principles, stressing that the process of creating institutions should be addressed in a comprehensive manner. According to him, this approach should also ensure balance between the parties that build those institutions.

“We will talk about principles first. We have made the LDK’s principles public, that we should talk about a comprehensive approach to the institutions, and within this inclusiveness there should be balance between the parties that build the institutions.”

Asked about reports of possible signatures within the LDK and potential changes in the party, Abdixhiku said that so far no signatures have been submitted.

He also recalled that the LDK recently held its January 31 Assembly, while stressing that the party’s next regular internal elections are planned for next year.

“No signatures have been deposited in the LDK so far. Procedurally, one-third of the Assembly delegates are free at any time, whenever they wish, to call an extraordinary Assembly of the LDK. In substantive terms, for us, the LDK’s regular elections are held within the regular deadlines, they are next year, there is no long time distance, and moreover, in substance, the LDK has emerged from a January 31 Assembly, and a serious party is not measured by when any minority, whoever it may be, wishes to hold assemblies, but by how much it respects its own decisions,” said the head of the LDK, Lumir Abdixhiku.
