A shooting in the Kolonos district of Athens left a 36-year-old Albanian man seriously injured on Friday evening. He suffered gunshot wounds to the abdomen and was found inside a vehicle.
The latest information indicates that he was shot in the square near the local church. After being wounded, the 36-year-old ran to his car, which was 150 metres from the scene of the attack.

The incident took place on Lenorman Street, near number 197. According to preliminary information, a resident alerted police to the gunfire shortly after 20:30.
Officers immediately arrived at the scene and found two shell casings. The Albanian man, who was in a serious condition inside the vehicle, was taken to Attikon Hospital by an ambulance from the EKAB emergency service.
He is receiving treatment at the hospital, but no further details about his condition have been released. Police have taken two people in for questioning in connection with the shooting. Investigators are continuing their work to establish the circumstances and motives behind the attack.
