20-Year-Old Killed in Ksamil: Sokrat Vata Remains Silent During Questioning as Witnesses Reveal Major Bar Brawl

Sokrat Vata, the 29-year-old arrested over the killing of a Portuguese tourist in Ksamil, has been questioned by investigators but refused to speak and gave no statement about the incident.

Two Turkish nationals who were with Vata as he was attempting to leave were also questioned during the investigation. Speaking through interpreters, they said they were regular customers at the “Principotes” bar and paid the 29-year-old for services as a bodyguard and personal escort.

According to their testimony, they had only given Vata a ride in their vehicle because of the friendship they had formed with him.

Meanwhile, investigators also questioned the victim’s friends, who gave their account of how the altercation began. They said the conflict may have started after a girl was harassed inside the bar.

The situation then escalated, involving several people who fought with one another. Security guards also intervened in an attempt to stop the altercation.

According to witness testimony, the 20-year-old tourist from Portugal had stepped in to separate those involved in the fight, but was then struck and killed.
