Zebërvoki quits the State Police uniform: I can’t stomach this campaign, the police we do not want, on Monday I will submit my resignation request

Marius Dervishi, known to the public as “Zebërvoki,” has announced his decision to leave the ranks of the State Police. In a reaction on social media, he said that on Monday he will officially submit his resignation request, bringing his career as a police officer to an end.

In his Instagram story, Dervishi is highly critical of the climate created in public opinion toward the blue uniforms. He denounces what he calls an unfair “campaign” against police officers, stressing that officers are often collectively labeled as criminals or abusers, regardless of the real situation on the ground.

This decision comes just one day after the protests held near the Parliament area, where fierce clashes were recorded between protesters and law enforcement forces.

“We are the ‘POLICE WE DO NOT WANT’, and for this reason, starting Monday I am submitting my resignation request from the job.

Not because the police officers are bad, not because I no longer love my job, but simply because I no longer want to make any kind of contribution to anything.

Police officers always criminals, police officers always abusive, police officers political operatives — whatever epithet you have placed on us. The media against us, the people against us, and in fact we who are the victims are being portrayed as the perpetrators. I cannot stomach this kind of campaign where in everything the POLICE are to blame.

I have not sold my righteous soul and, beyond every other good thing God has made possible for me, I still choose to be an officer of a police force, but I am nevertheless ‘abandoning’ this passion, driven by the resentment and hatred that you as a people have for police officers and by the generalization you make by considering all police officers the same.

But do not forget one thing: ‘What the eye of the camera does not see, God above sees’”, he writes.
