Young man who stabbed 55-year-old 20 times near a bar: “I had fun, I’ll do it again,” he tells police

“I had fun, I’ll do it again as soon as I get out.” That is what the 22-year-old from Ivory Coast told Italian law enforcement officers after being arrested on Saturday, July 4, for stabbing a 55-year-old man outside a bar in the San Siro area of Milan.

The young man was stopped by customers at the venue before he could get away and is now charged with attempted murder. However, according to his initial statements, the charge does not appear to concern him in the slightest.

The injured 55-year-old is being treated at Niguarda Hospital in Milan and remains in critical condition. According to law enforcement, he was attacked “from behind, with a 21-centimeter knife, stabbing him 20 times” in the head, neck, chest and abdomen.

The serious stabbing was fully captured by security cameras installed outside the venue.

The suspect is expected to be questioned by the judge on the morning of Monday, July 6. Meanwhile, the prosecutor has requested that the arrest be upheld, describing the young man as a flight risk and a danger of reoffending.
