Worker Haxhi Gojnovci Dies in Accident at KEK, Had Been with the Corporation Since 1985

A serious workplace accident has claimed the life of an employee of the Kosovo Energy Corporation (KEK).

KEK announced that the victim was Haxhi (Selatin) Gojnovci, born on April 23, 1967, in Lismir, Fushë Kosovë.

The incident occurred on Sunday in KEK’s Coal Production Division. Initial reports said that a worker had sustained serious injuries.

Kosovo Police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene of the accident.

In its latest announcement, KEK clarified that Gojnovci was involved in a fatal accident while carrying out his work duties and moving through the excavator area.

The corporation announced that on 16.08.2026, while on duty and moving near the excavator, the deceased was involved in a serious accident that unfortunately resulted in the loss of his life.

Gojnovci began working at KEK in 1985, contributing to the corporation for more than four decades.

According to KEK, he will be remembered with respect for his responsibility, dedication, professionalism, and exemplary conduct in the workplace, as well as for the good relationships he built with colleagues over the years.

KEK extended its condolences to Haxhi Gojnovci’s family, friends, and colleagues.
